Shamim wins Monsoon Scooter Rally while Syed Asif clocks fastest stage timing


Monsoon Scooter rally known for its toughness when it comes to slush, water logging and slippery surface regains life after years of struggle for not finding a suitable track, sponsors and rains. Sportscraft, Nashik carries forward the legacy of Shrikant Karani. 29 participants were in fray for this edition of the TVS NTORQ Sportscraft Monsoon Scooter Rally of Nashik 24, run on a 6.28kms stage taken on thrice.

Overnight heavy rain and light showers during the rally made the event more exciting and challenging.  Shamim Khan riding a TVS NTORQ 125 led this edition of victory parade for TVS Racing as he won the overall tag with a lead of two seconds over his team mate Karthik N who followed him in second, previous year winner Mumbaikar Venkatesh Shetty riding a Aprilia SR150 with 26sec difference completed the podium.

The Bhopal rider Muzzaffar Ali and Tejas Prashant Kadam from Mumbai both riding a TVS NTORQ 125 finished in fourth and fifth position respectively. Localite Darshan Chaure riding a Suzuki Access 125 finished in sixth position.




80 to 115cc 2Stroke class: Localite and seasoned rider Nilesh Thakare riding a Kinetic Honda was the winner, as he managed to keep Rohan Navin Chandra Thakur from Mumbai riding a Kinetic Marvel behind him in second with a difference of 1min 21sec, Mohammed Anwar from Bhopal riding a Kinetic Honda with 1min 30sec difference stood third. Vikramjit Boparai from Thane and Abhijit Ajay Raut from Satara both riding a Kinetic Honda finished in fourth and fifth position.



80 to 110cc GroupB geared Scooter:

Mohammed Anees from Bhopal riding a LML Vespa with a total time of 33min 02sec was the lone winner, another seasoned rider from Nashik Hiten Thakkar had to pull out in his final run due to  chasis issue, the third rider in the class Hemant More from Pune also pulled out in the final stage.



Upto 210cc 4Stroke:

Shamim Khan from TVS Racing riding a TVS NTORQ125 was the winner followed by his teammate Karthik N in second, Devendra Gunjal from Nashik riding a Aprilia finished a distinct third. Syed Asif Ali the third TVS Racing rider and the 2023 INRC scooter class champion missed the podium as he was facing mechanical issues in the first stage and lost over 40min before he could get back on the track, there on he went to prove his class by clocking the two fastest timing of the day in both the remaining stages.

 


Upto 210 4Stroke Private Open:

Venkatesh Shetty fom Mumbai riding a Aprilia SR150 with a total time of 23min was the winner of the class, he was followed by Muzzaffar Ali from Bhopal in second with 1min 35sec difference, Tejas Prashant Kadam from Mumbai riding a TVS NTORQ 125 was further 9sec slower and had to settle for third. Darshan Chaure from Nashik riding a Suzuki Access finished fourth, while mohsin Mehboob Faki from Mumbai riding a Yamaha RAYZ finished fifth.

 


Ladies Class: Both the riders were from Nashik Pooja Sopan Karhe riding a TVS  Wego was the winner followed by Geeta Patil riding on a Honda Activa in distinct second.

 


Vetran Class Private Open GroupB class: Mohammed Saeed from Jaipur riding a TVS NTORQ 125 was the winner followed by Raju Laxman Rao Mate from Pune riding a Aprillia SR150 in a distinct second position, Purushottam Mate also from Pune riding a Aprillia SR150 finished third. Babbudin Ansari from Nashik riding a Kinteic Honda finished fourth.
