With the Indian National Rally Championship (INRC) still wide open, the iconic K1000 rally becomes a decider for the seven classes of championship even as Arjuna Awardee Gaurav Gill heads for a Hatrick of victories.
Six out of the seven classes in the Blueband FMSCI Indian National Rally Championship enter the last mile. The championship in these classes will be decided in the popular 48th K1000 rally, the final round of the 2024 season. Except Gypsy Cup, all the remaining six classes, INRC, INRC2, INRC3, JINRC, Women’s class and FMSCI Classic are still up for grabs.
In K1000 rally, there are two physical stages of Theertharama, 20.78 kms long, and Hatyalu 16.07 kms, and both will be run thrice, twice on Saturday and once on Sunday, cumulating in 110.55 kms of Special Stage distance. Along with Liason distance 0f 82.56kms, the total distance will be less than 200km. The stages are run or dirt, about 14km from Nittur, towards Tiptur.
INRC:
Three former National champions are all set to fight it out for the 2024 crown. The 2022 champion Karna Kadur, supported by MRF from Arka Motorsports leads with a total points of 119 points, followed by the 2021 champion Aditya Thakur, supported by MRF and Sidvin, from Chettinad Sporting with 94 points. The multiple National and APRC champion Gaurav Gill, supported by JK Tyre, with 80 points stands in third and also heading for a hatrick of wins after his consecutive triumph at Hyderabad and Kodagu. Harkrishan Wadia who had a hatrick in the previous season stands fourth with 69 points.
Arka Motorsports with 225points is looking to grab the Team Championship as Chettinad Sporting with 154 points stands second.
In the co-drivers standings, Musa Sheriff heads the table with 123 points followed by Virender Kashyap in second with 99 points and Aniruddha Rangenakar with 80 points stands third.
INRC2:
Aditya Thakur supported by MRF and Sidvin from Chettinad Sporting heads the class with 122 points, defending champion Harkrishan Wadia supported by MRF from Arka Motorsports with 106 points is aiming for his second consecutive championship while Fabid Ahmer supported by MRF, also from Chettinad Sporting with 101 points stands third.
Virender Kashyap with 126 points is the co-driver leader, Kunal Kashyap with 109 points stands second and E Shivaprakash with 102 points from A & A Motorsports stands third.
Chettinad Sporting heads the Team championship with 170 points and with a 10-point difference Arka Motorsports, stands second.
INRC3:
Daraius Shroff from Chettinad Sporting with 132 points is the leader. Snap Racing driver Arnav Pratap Singh with 118 points stands second while Jeet Jhabakh, also from Chettinad Sporting is third with 100 points.
In the Co-drivers standings Arvind Dheerender with 124 points is leading, followed by Vinay Padmashali with 119 points in second. Venu Ramesh Kumar with 116 points stands third.
Chettinad Sporting with 268 points heads the Team Championship table while Snap Racing should settle for second with 141 points.
Junior INRC:
Arnav Pratap Singh from Snap Racing with 146 pints heads the drivers’ championship. Arjun Rajiv with 131 points from Chettinad Sporting is second and Abhin Rai from Ideal Racing with three points difference is presently third.
FMSCI classic challenge:
Aneeshnath S from A & A motorsports with 139 points heads the leader board. Privateer Praveen Dwarkanath with two points difference is following very closely while Shaikh Hussain Pasha with 102 points is third.
Amitha Aneesh with 140 points heads the co-drivers chart while KB Kariyappa with 108 points stands second.
A & A Motorsports is the team champion
Baljinder Singh Dhillion is the 2024 Gypsy Cup Drivers champion with 196. While two privateers from Bengaluru Sanjay Agarwal and Dr. Akarsh are fighting it out for the second position with just two points separating the two.
Goutham CP with 200 points is the co-drivers champion. Vignesh Mahalingam with 115 points is first runner-up.
Team Championship is bagged by A & A Motorsports.
Womens class:
Harshita Raj Gowda with 139 points head the class followed by Phoebe Nongrum in second with a 15-point deficit. Nikeetaa Takkale with 109 points is standing third.
